Livingstone's TuracoThe Livingstone's Turaco (Tauraco livingstonii) is a species of bird in the Musophagidae family. It is found in the humid forst areas of Burundi, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. Within its range, the Livingstone's Turaco inhabits montane and coastal forests, from sea level to 2500m.

Sub-species:

Description:

The Livingstone's Turaco is approximately 45cm from beak to tail, and weighs about 262-380 grams. Females are generally slighter in appearance than males. Most usefully for species identification, the white tipped crest is anteriorly pointed when erect and measures around 65-75mm long.

This species' speciation is defined on vocal and cytogenic differences, which separate the Livingstone's Turaco from the rest of the Green Turaco super-species.

Diet / Food:

It feeds mainly on available fruits.
